Travelling to Pucón

Pucón is a small destination city in the middle of the southern lake region in Chile, 780 km. south of Santiago. It is located in the Villarrica lake basin, close to the volcano of the same name, national parks, glaciers, rivers, lakes and mineral springs.

The Temuco airport will be closed for repairs from October 1st to November 30, 2009 (see Document in Spanish notifying the temporary closing)
Please find below other alternatives to reach Pucón, airway and buses.

 

Valdivia, south of Temuco, is located at only 85 minutes by airplane from Santiago. The distance from Valdivia to Pucón is 154 km (2 hours) by land. Please visit Lan Airlines (Nov. schedule) for information about the flights. Sky Airline is another airline going to Valdivia, but the information is not yet available on their web page.

For those arriving right before (7 and 8 Nov) and  leaving right after the meeting (12 and 13 Nov), LOC is coordinating free transportation, so please confirm if this is your case to include your name on the expected passengers list.

There are at least three different bus services that go to Pucón from Santiago. They usually leave in the late evening and the trip takes approximately 10 hours. For more information about the bus trip, please check here.
