Science in Garching and Santiago

Science Day

ESO Science Day is organised at regular intervals both in Garching and in Chile. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for all ESO astronomers in their duty station to get to know each other better. It is a day packed with science results presented by ESO (junior and senior) scientists, via an exciting marathon of short presentations. Hence, the Science Day is a unique opportunity to get a quick-fire look at the rich and varied research topics at ESO and to meet with people of similar scientific interests and potential future collaborations. At the same time, it helps to create a more relaxed and informal work environment, which, given the hectic schedules, can be a difficult goal to achieve day-to-day.
