Upcoming Gaia data releases, new wide-area multi-object spectroscopic facilities (4MOST, DESI, WEAVE, and SDSS-V), and deep time-domain surveys such as the LSST will identify hundreds of thousands of new white dwarf binaries. These systems are fundamental to our understanding of a wide range of astrophysical phenomena, serving as powerful laboratories to (i) map the chemical evolution, kinematics, and ages of the Milky Way's disc and halo, (ii) provide critical constraints on models of binary evolution, which also govern the formation of gravitational wave sources, and (iii) unveil progenitor configurations and explosion mechanisms leading to Type Ia Supernovae (SNe Ia).

In light of this order-of-magnitude increase in observational data and the new observational capabilities coming online at ESO, including the VLTI upgrade (GPAO+LGS), SOXS, MOONS, CUBES, and the ELT, this workshop will provide a timely platform to foster discussion and stimulate collaborations among research communities working on observations, theoretical modelling, and population statistics of white dwarf binaries.
