SOCIAL EVENT: Visit to Pomaire & Isla Negra

 

General description

This tour is offered for 40 persons. The total cost should not be more than US$60.00. Those ones interested shoud pay the fee at the time of the registration on December 4, at Hotel Torremayor.

We will visit Pomaire, a small village about 60 km west of Santiago. It is a popular destination because of its ceramic pottery in the form of vases, plates, pots and almost anything you can imagine, all at very reasonable prices.
After lunch in Pomaire we will continue to the coast to visit the house/museum of the Chilean poet and Nobel laureate Pablo Neruda in the seaside village of Isla Negra. You may admire Neruda's collection of seashells and nautical objects that the poet collected during his travels around the world.
The program includes transport from the hotel Torremayor in a modern bus, bilingual guide, and the ticket to the museum.Two mineral water bottles per person are also included.
The tours to the house/museum of Neruda offer two bilingual guides. The tours are limited to a maximum of 8 persons and we propose the following schedule:

Program

11:15 : Departing from the hotel Torremayor, we will travel along the Maipo valley.

12:15 : Arrival to Pomaire, where you can see the characteristic pottery. You may have lunch at one of the many restaurants, like 'El Parrón de Pomaire', 'La Greda Restaurante', 'Restaurant Los Naranjos', 'San Antonio Restaurantes'.

14:30 : We leave Pomaire.
15:30 : We arrive to Isla Negra where we will visit the house/museum of the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda.
17:00 : We leave Isla Negra and continue along the seashore where we will see the beaches of the Algarrobo and El Quisco villages. Later, we will visit San Antonio, one of the most busy harbours in Chile.
18:30 : We leave the coast to return to Santiago.
20:00 : Arrival to Santiago (Hotel Torremayor)
