Planetary nebulae as dynamical tracers: dark-to-luminous properties of early-type galaxies

PNe have allowed to constraint mass-to-light ratios (M/L) in early-type up to unprecedented distance from the center showing in some case clear evidence of increasing M/L, in some other case fairly constant M/L. I briefly discuss whether these trends are consistent with expectations from LCDM and galaxy formation.
