Giuliana Cosentino

  • Research Interests: Large-scale shocks in the interstellar medium and how these can help initiate star formation in our Galaxy. In particular, shocks driven by Supernova remnants on molecular clouds as well as those arising from cloud-cloud collisions, using mm observations from radio telescopes like IRAM, APEX and ALMA.
  • Current Institute: Chalmers University, Sweden
  • Starting date: November 2023

Jens Kammerer

  • Research Interests: Planet formation and evolution, direct imaging of substellar companions and circumstellar disks, planet and brown dwarf atmospheres, extreme angular resolution imaging using long-baseline interferometry with the VLTI and sparse aperture masking with SPHERE and JWST, exoplanet yield modeling, detection and characterization of Earth-like exoplanets with future telescopes.
  • Current Institute: Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI), Baltimore, USA
  • Starting date: September 2023

Amelia Fraser McKelvie

  • Research Interests: Galaxy evolution. Galaxy stellar populations and stellar kinematics as revealed by integral field spectroscopic (IFS) surveys (MaNGA, SAMI/Hector, MUSE). The link between star formation and the growth of galaxy structure (i.e. bulges, bars, discs). The role of environment in galaxy transformation. Linking extragalactic and Galactic studies to better benchmark our Milky Way.
