Encouraged by the positive response of the community to the Hypatia Colloquium series 2021, the ESO Office for Science in the Directorate of Science is glad to organise the Hypatia Colloquium series 2022. PhD students and early postdocs (max 3 years from the PhD) working in any field of theoretical and observational astronomy and astrophysics are invited to apply to be nominated as speaker of the Hypatia Colloquium, by submitting an abstract using the dedicated form.

The talks will be scheduled on Tuesdays at 3pm CEST from January to June 2022. Each speaker will give a 20min talk followed by questions from the attendees. The seminars will be entirely hosted on-line and will be streamed live on the dedicated YouTube channel. The videos will remain on-line on the same platform.

The speakers will also be encouraged to send a written contribution in the form of proceedings on the topic presented in their talk. A booklet containing all the proceedings of the 2022 series will be published towards September/October 2022. The electronic version of the booklet of the proceedings of the Hypatia Colloquium 2021 can be downloaded here.

The closing date for this application round is 19 November 2021, 1pm CEST. No applications will be accepted after the deadline. A selection committee will evaluate the applications and will contact the selected speakers by the beginning of December. The calendar of the talks will be made available as soon as the committee receives a confirmation of participation by the nominated speakers.
