VLTI Community Days: ESO Headquarters, Garching, Germany, 8–10 March 2017
VLTI Winter School: ESO Headquarters, Garching, Germany, 6–8 March 2017

The Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI) is currently undergoing deployment of the second generation instruments and infrastructure upgrades, and the K-band multi-beam combiner instrument GRAVITY is being commissioned. The VLTI Community Days are a unique opportunity to get together and reflect on the present and plan for the future.

Wide participation in the Community Days will ensure that all possibilities are considered and that provision of the tools to retain the most exciting future research is discussed. ESO will present the conclusions from the discussion at the Community Days to the Scientific Technical Committee (STC) for recommendation on the roadmap for VLTI.

A small Winter School will be held on 6–8 March 2017 before the Community Days, for students and researchers wishing to familiarize themselves with VLTI capabilities, how to prepare observations and reduce VLTI data (in particular for GRAVITY). It is possible to register for both the Winter School and the VLTI Community Days, or for either event separately.
