Čtvrtý Astronomický kemp ESO pro studenty středních škol

ESO a její síť spolupracovníků pro popularizaci ESON (ESO Science Outreach Network) spolu s organizátorem vědecko-vzdělávacích akcí firmou Sterrenlab a Astronomickou observatoří Autonomního regionu Aosta Valley (Astronomical Observatory of the Autonomous Region of the Aosta Valley, OAVdA) připravují čtvrtý ročník Astronomického kempu ESO (ESO Astronomy Camp) s podtitulem „Viditelný a skrytý vesmír“. Kemp se uskuteční od 26. prosince 2016 do 1. ledna 2017 v Aosta Valley v Itálii.   

V rámci kempu, který se zaměří na pozorování vesmíru ve všech vlnových délkách, účastníci prozkoumají toto téma prostřednictvím různých astronomických aktivit – přednášek, praktických cvičení i nočních pozorování s dalekohledy a přístroji observatoře. Další sociální aktivity – zimní sporty nebo exkurze – přispějí k tomu, aby se kemp stal pro všechny zúčastněné neopakovatelným zážitkem. Za vědecký program kempu zodpovídají ESO a OAVdA, kteří ve spolupráci s dalšími partnery zajistí rovněž zkušené lektory a potřebný materiál.    

Z programu čtvrtého kempu vybíráme jen několik zajímavostí: použití spektrografu, přednášky astronomů pracujících pro ESO nebo výlet na Matterhorn.

Registrační poplatek účastníka činí 500 € a pokrývá ubytování s plnou penzí v hostelu Saint-Barthélemy, dohled profesionálního personálu, všechny astronomické a volnočasové aktivity, materiály, výlety a exkurze, přepravu v rámci kempu a pojištění. K dispozici bude autobusová doprava mezi observatoří a letištěm Milan Malpensa. Poplatek nezahrnuje cestovní náklady z domova účastníka na letiště Milán Malpensa ani zpět.

Maximální počet účastníků kempu je 56. Kemp je koncipován pro studenty středních škol ve věku od 16 do 18 let (ročník 1998, 1999 a 2000) z členských států ESO (ESO Member States) a dalších zemí, které jsou součástí ESON (ESO Science Outreach Network). Omezený počet míst bude k dispozici i pro studenty z jiných zemí.

Studenti, kteří by se chtěli Astronomického kempu ESO zúčastnit, musí vyplnit formulář na stránkách kempu a nejpozději do 4. října 2016 zaslat maximálně tříminutové anglicky mluvené video na téma “I would most like to discover/invent ...... because........”

Jeden žadatel z členského státu ESO, jehož video bude organizátory vyhodnoceno jako nejlepší, získá stipendium ESO – uhrazení úplných nákladů na účast v kempu včetně dopravy. Někteří národní partneři rovněž poskytují podporu autorům nejlepších prací ve svých zemích. Další možnosti financování účasti studentů z jednotlivých zemí se mohou ještě objevit v následujících měsících. 

Vítěz stipendia ESO a další úspěšní žadatelé o účast budou oznámeni 16. října 2016. Do 30. října 2016 pak vybraní uchazeči musí potvrdit svou účast na kempu. Podmínky výběru a další instrukce naleznete na stránkách Astronomického kempu ESO 2016.
