Regard sur un disque lunaire lointain (ESOcast Light 240)

 

Grâce à l'ALMA, une équipe d'astronomes a détecté sans ambiguïté, pour la première fois, un disque dans lequel se forme une lune autour d'une planète lointaine. La planète est une géante gazeuse de type Jupiter, hébergée dans un système encore en cours de formation. Ce résultat promet d’apporter un nouvel éclairage sur la manière dont les lunes et les planètes se forment dans les jeunes systèmes stellaires. Cette vidéo résume cette découverte.
