The Large Integration Hall

A bird’s-eye view of the Large Integration Hall at ESO's headquarters in Garching. The white hexagonal structure to the right is used to test the segments of the ELT’s primary mirror. Towards the centre-left we see an optical bench, isolated from its surroundings with vibration-dampening legs. Hanging from the ceiling there’s a yellow crane able to lift up to 10 tonnes.
