La Silla: Foreseen Changes regarding Instrumentation and Facilities
- Depending on successful commissioning, a Laser Frequency Comb to improve stability of NIRPS might be offered in Period 112.
- A bluer Laser Frequency Comb for HARPS, covering the range 420nm-689nm, is expected to be delivered in 2023 and might be offered in Period 112 at the earliest.
- SoFI is expected to be decommissioned during Period 111 for the installation and commissioning of the Son of X-shooter (SoXS), while EFOSC2 will be decommissioned once SoXS enters regular operation on the NTT, which is expected for Period 112.
