We invite CASA users to partake in a User Survey that will be launched in June/July. This survey is meant to better capture the current usage and perception of CASA and to guide future development efforts. In addition, we always encourage the CASA users to contact directly their CUC representatives to provide feedback regarding capabilities, usability, reliability, and performance of the CASA software package.

The CASA Users Committee (CUC) was formed in 2014 on the initiative of the NRAO Data Management and Software Department. Its primary role consists in providing feedback from the CASA users community on capabilities, usability, reliability and
performance of the Common Astronomy Software Applications (CASA) software package, and advising the CASA Management on these matters and development priorities. CASA is the primary software for observations obtained with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) and the Jansky Very Large Array (VLA).

The CUC comprises ten experts: five are appointed by the NRAO Assistant Director for Science Support and Research, two by the East Asian ALMA Regional Center (ARC) Manager at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ), two by the European ARC Manager at European Southern Observatory (ESO), and one by the Head of the Department of Science operations at the Joint ALMA Observatory (JAO). Details on current members can be found on the following wiki page: https://safe.nrao.edu/wiki/bin/view/Software/CASA/CASAUsersCommittee. The CUC holds an annual meeting with the CASA Team and prepares a report for the CASA Management. The 2014 and 2015 reports can be found on the CUC wiki page.

We invite CASA users to partake in a User Survey that will be launched in May/June. This survey is meant to better capture the current usage and perception of CASA and to guide future development efforts. In addition, we always encourage the CASA users to contact directly their CUC representatives to provide feedback regarding capabilities, usability, reliability, and performance of the CASA software package.

Community members interested in serving on the CUC should therefore contact their relevant regional group, as half of the current members are expected to rotate off in the next year or two.
