Space Scoop lancia una gara di fumetti

Dieci anni fa fu lanciato il progetto Universe Awareness. Per celebrare questo anniversario, e il lancio del nuovo sito web Space Scoop, è stato indetto un concorso mondiale che invita i lettori di Space Scoop a creare il proprio fumetto per il sito. Space Scoop fornisce un modello di fumetto — tutto quello che dovete fare è selezionare un testo pubblicato e lasciar fluire la vostra creatività!
Sono accettate opere che fanno uso di mezzi tradizionali come acquerelli, matite, mosaico o gesso, così come lavori creati usando software digitali come Paint, GIMP o Adobe Illustrator. Verranno selezionati tre vincitori per ogni paese partecipante, uno per ogni categoria di età (8-11 anni, 12-15 anni e 16-18 anni). Ogni vincitore riceverà una busta con regali cosmici e un certificato. Inoltre l'opera d'arte vincente verrà mostrata sul sito web internazionale Universe Awareness.
Le opere vincenti di tutti i paesi saranno valutate da una guiria internazionale che sceglierà il vincitore assoluto che riceverà un computer KANO. I tre secondi classificati porteranno a casa un Galileoscope ciascuno.
Sono gradite le iscrizioni di partecipanti di diverse lingue e di età compresa tra gli 8 e i 18 anni; per scoprire se la vostra lingua è presente visitate la pagina web del concorso. Il concorso inizierà il 20 Maggio 2016 e si chiuderà il 31 Agosto 2016. Le opere verranno giudicate in base a originalità, interpretazione del tema, tecnica creativa, composizione e per il loro aspetto artistico globale. I nomi dei vincitori verranno annunciati il 30 Settembre 2016. I partecipanti devono compilare un modulo di contatto, che dovrà essere firmato e verificato da un adulto responsabile: insegnante, genitore o tutore. Le domande dovranno essere inviate in formato cartaceo o elettronico e dovranno essere spedite all'Organizzatore Nazionale del concorso del proprio paese. Le opere in formato elettronico saranno ammesse nei seguenti formati: jpg, png, pdf; le dimensioni dei file non devono superare 1MB.

UNAWE (Universe Awareness) usa gli aspetti emozionanti dell'astronomia come ispirazione per i bambini di età tra i 4 e i 10 anni, in particolare quelli che vivono in contesti svantaggiati, e stimola il loro interesse verso la scienza e la tecnologia. UNAWE usa anche il punto di vista e la vastità dell'Universo per promuovere la tolleranza verso culture differenti e sviluppare il senso di cittadinanza del mondo. Ciò che distingue UNAWE sono la formazione degli insegnanti, la produzione di materiale educativi di eccellenza e una rete interdisciplinare. UNAWE è coordinato dall'Università di Leiden, in Olanda.
Space Awareness è un progetto internazionale che mira a utilizzare l'emozione dell'esplorazione dello spazio al fine di aumentare l'interesse degli studenti per la scienza e la tecnologia o per una carriera legata allo spazio e di stimolare il loro senso di cittadinanza del mondo. Per raggiungere questo scopo, il progetto offre una grande varietà di strumenti e attività per ispirare i bambini, gli adolescenti e gli insegnanti a partecipare ad attività legate allo spazio. Tra l'altro, il progetto offrirà molte attività tra cui lo sviluppo di strumenti professionali, risorse educative, Space Scoops, la partecipazione del pubblico nella ricerca scientifica e giochi, così come storie di lavoratori spaziali. Space Awareness è coordinato dall'Università di Leiden, in Olanda.
Space Scoop è finanziato dal Settimo Programma Quadro della Comunità Europea (FP7) con la convenzione n° 263325, dal programma Horizon 2020 con la convenzione n° 6386523, dall'ESO (European Southern Observatory) e dal NAOJ (National Astronomical Observatory of Japan).
L'ESO (European Southern Observatory) è tra i primi istituti di astronomia a collaborare con Space Scoop e ad avere i propri comunicati stampa tradotti nel "linguaggio dei ragazzi".
