Primer espectáculo descargable y gratuito para planetarios
ESO lanza espectáculo “From Earth to the Universe” (Desde la Tierra hacia el Universo) para planetarios de cúpula completa

Se ha realizado el lanzamiento de la primera película de larga duración, para planetarios de cúpula completa, en formato de alta resolución 4k, titulada From Earth to the Universe, que la comunidad de planetarios a nivel mundial puede descargar y utilizar sin costo. Este impresionante viaje de 30 minutos a través del tiempo y el espacio nos transporta al Universo que las ciencias han develado, mediante una maravillosa combinación de imágenes y sonidos. El show fue producido para el ESO Supernova Planetarium and Visitor Centre (Planetario Supernova y Centro de Visitas de ESO) que se inaugurará en el año 2017. Entretanto, el espectáculo será presentado en planetarios de todo el mundo y su estreno mundial se realizará en el Nuevo Planetario Digital de la Fundación Eugenides, en Atenas, Grecia y en el Planetario de Hamburgo en Alemania, el 22 de junio de 2015.
Desde tiempos inmemoriales, el bello y misterioso cielo nocturno ha sido el objeto de diversas historias, antiguas leyendas y admiración. El deseo de comprender el Universo bien podría considerarse la experiencia intelectual compartida más antigua de la humanidad. Sin embargo, solo últimamente hemos comenzado a comprender el verdadero lugar que ocupamos dentro de la inmensidad del cosmos. Le invitamos a vivir la experiencia que ofrece From Earth to the Universe, y emprender un viaje de descubrimiento celeste, que lo llevará a conocer desde las teorías de los antiguos astrónomos griegos hasta los imponentes telescopios de la actualidad.
La película fue dirigida por el joven cineasta griego Theofanis N. Matsopoulos y cuenta con una magnífica banda sonora del compositor noruego Johan B. Monell. Los espectadores podrán deleitarse con el esplendor de los diversos mundos dentro del Sistema Solar y presenciar la fiereza del Sol abrasador. Luego, From Earth to the Universe deja nuestro hogar para transportarnos a los coloridos lugares donde nacen y mueren las estrellas y, aún más lejos de la Vía Láctea, hacia la inimaginable inmensidad de una miríada de galaxias. Durante el trayecto, los espectadores conocerán historia de la astronomía, la invención del telescopio y sobre los gigantescos telescopios de hoy en día, que permiten explorar las profundidades del Universo.
El Director Theofanis N. Matsopoulos describe la película como “un viaje colorido e inspirador… los elementos visuales son deslumbrantes y realmente hablan por sí mismos, mostrando hasta qué punto nos ha conducido la ambición de la humanidad, en términos de observar y comprender el Universo”.
Los primeros espectadores que podrán presenciar From Earth to the Universe serán los presentes en Atenas y Hamburgo el día 22 de junio. El estreno mundial se realizará en el Νew Digital Planetarium of the Eugenides Foundation, (Nuevo Planetario Digital de la Fundación Eugenides) Avenida Syngrou 387 – 175 64 P. Faliro, entrada por 11 Pendelis Street), a las 18:30hrs., 19:30hrs y 20:30 hora local. Asimismo, el Planetario de Hamburgo (Otto-Wels-Straße 1, D-22303 Hamburgo) también presentará el show el 22 de junio a las 19:00 y 20:15hrs.
Se ruega a los representantes de medios de comunicación que deseen asistir al estreno, contactar a los encargados de prensa en las ciudades de Hamburgo y Atenas, que se indican a continuación.
