International Conference on the SL9-Jupiter Collision

Observatoire de Paris, Meudon, France, July 3-5, 1996

Second Announcement (extract)

The collision of comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 with Jupiter provided a unique opportunity for cometary and planetary research, and led to an unprecedented observational campaign. As mentioned in the first circular, the aim of the present Conference is to stimulate discussions and develop interactions between the participants, in the fields of observation, interpretation, modelling and theory. Plenary sessions will be devoted to invited reviews; contributions will be made in the form of posters.
