Det første planetariumshow som kan hentes helt gratis

ESO frigiver et full-dome show med titlen "From Earth to the Universe" til planetariebrug

Så kan alle, der har lyst, hente et planetariumshow i fuld længde ganske gratis og i 4k full-dome format. Titlen er From Earth to the Universe - Fra Jorden til Universet.

Det er en åndeløs 30 minutters rejse igennem tid og rum, hvor det Univers, som videnskaben har erkendt bliver præsenteret i lyd og billeder af høj kvalitet. Showet er produceret til the ESOs Supernova Planetarium og besøgscenter, som åbner i 2017. Indtil da kan showet vises i andre planetarier over hele Verden, og det får verdenspremière i det nye digitale planetarium i Eugenides Foundation i Athen, Grækenland og i Hamburg Planetarium i Tyskland den 22. juni 2015.

Nattehimlen, smuk og ærefrygtindgydende som den er, har været årsag til lejrbålshistorier, ældgamle myter og beundring så længe, der har været mennesker til. Det er måske menneskehedens ældste fælles intellektuelle ønske at forstå Universet. Dog er det kun for nyligt, at vi virkelig er begyndt at fatte vores plads i det enorme kosmos. Vi inviterer nu alle til at lære om vores fælles himmelske opdagelsesrejse, fra de gamle græske astronomer til de største af dagens teleskoper - det er rejsen Fra Jorden til Universet.

Instruktøren er den unge græske filmmager Theofanis N. Matsopoulos,  og musikken er et fejende lydspor fra den norske komponist Johan B. Monell. Tilskuerne kan nyde de fantastiske verdener i Solsystemet og vildskaben på den brændende Sol. Så forlader forestillingen vores hjem, for at bringe os ud til de farverige steder, hvor stjerner fødes og dør. Vi kommer endnu længere ud; udenfor Mælkevejen og ud i det uforståeligt enorme Verdensrum med myriader af galakser. Undervejs hører publikum om astronomiens historie, om opfindelsen af teleskopet og om nutidens kæmpeteleskoper, som vi bruger til at trænge endnu dybere ud i Universet.

Instruktør Theofanis N. Matsopoulos beskriver filmen som "en farverig og inspirerende rejse...de visuelle effekter er uovertrufne, og de viser hvor langt menneskehedens ambitioner har bragt os med hensyn til at observere og forstå Universet".

De første, som får muligheden for at se From Earth to the Universe er de, som er så heldige af være i Athen og Hamburg den 22. juni. Showet har verdenspremière i Νew Digital Planetarium of the Eugenides Foundation, (387 Syngrou Avenue – 175 64 P. Faliro, indgang fra 11 Pendelis Street), klokken 18:30, 19:30 og 20:30 lokal tid. Samme dag viser Hamburg Planetarium (Otto-Wels-Straße 1, D-22303 Hamburg) forestillingen klokken 19:00 og 20:15.
