- Added a first, public version of the ESPRESSO EDPS workflow. Note that
currently EDPS support is still considered experimental. For details about EDPS
please refer to the EDPS webpage.
Known Issues
- Data reduction is demanding in terms of system resources. The user should have at least 16 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of free disk space. Better is to have 32 GB of RAM and 4 TB of free disk space. Please note that only the demo requires 30 GB of free space to be installed and generates additional 10 GB of products. This sets also minimum root directory space requirements for RPM installation.
- Data reduction for SINGLE modes (in particular not binned data) is slow, and may take 45 min.
As some recipes parallelise code using OpenMP, data reduction is faster on multi-core systems.
- The reduction of THAR-FP or FP-THAR fails sometimes, when the espdr_wave_FP recipe does not
detect FP peaks on the whole order. This can be due to a strong cosmic, badly placed. The consequence
is the impossibility to construct the wavelength solution. In this case it is possible to take another FP-FP
raw frame for the reduction.
- Because of their large size, static calibrations WAVE and DLL matrices (STATIC_DLL_MATRIX_FIB, STATIC_WAVE_MATRIX_FIB, FIB=A or B) are no longer distributed with the instrument pipeline package. These files, that are required for reducing data, can be retrieved when downloading the raw data from the ESO archive by using the CalSelector tool. Moreover, they are available in the ESPRESSO demo data set (available here or via the esoreflex workflow installation process) and here).
