In a recent paper Torres et al (2006) presented the results of a high-resolution optical 
spectroscopic survey aimed to search for nearby young associations and young stars among 
optical counterparts of ROSAT All-Sky Survey X-ray sources in the Southern Hemisphere, the 
SACY survey.
In this talk, we describe the SACY survey, its sample and the associations found so far. 
Future applications for the SACY sample are discussed.
