Giornata delle porte aperte all’ESO: disponibile il programma dell'edizione 2016

L’ESO, l’osservatorio da terra più produttivo al mondo, aprirà le porte al pubblico domenica 22 ottobre 2016, dalle 11 alle 18 (CEST). L’evento si terrà al quartier generale a Garching, vicino a Monaco di Baviera. Durante la giornata, i visitatori avranno la possibilità di vivere il mondo dell’ESO in prima persona e potranno prendere parte a molte attività, il cui programma è ora disponibile.
La nostra giornata delle porte aperte fa parte del cosiddetto “Tag der offenen Tür” che interesserà tutto il campus di ricerca di Garching e molti altri istituti del luogo.
Se durante la giornata avrete bisogno di aiuto per trovare i luoghi di interesse, rivolgetevi ai nostri membri dello staff, che indosseranno badge nominativi. Dato che l’ESO è un’organizzazione internazionale, il nostro staff parla diverse lingue.
I rappresentanti dei media che intendono partecipare all’evento sono pregati di confermare la loro partecipazione all'indirizzo osandu@partner.eso.org.
Lista delle attività
Area 1: Benvenuti all’ESO
Ottieni materiale gratuito sull’ESO, un programma dell’evento e una mappa dell’edificio. I bambini potranno ricevere un passaporto per collezionare timbri e avranno l’opportunità di vincere regali nel caso in cui raccolgano tutti i timbri delle nostre attività (prima di andare via, è possibile ritirare i regali presso l’area 17). Qui, i bambini potranno anche ottenere un album per le figurine.
Area 2: Mostre sull’ESO e ALMA con modelli; “Ask an Astronomer”
Scopri di più sui telescopi e sulla ricerca scientifica dell’ESO. Se hai domande, cerca un membro dello staff con il badge "Ask an Astronomer" (chiedi a un astronomo).
Area 3: Dimostrazione delle ottiche adattive
Scopri di più su questa affascinante tecnica per compensare gli effetti turbolenti dell’atmosfera sopra di noi.
Area 4: ESO Chile Chill
Prenditi un momento di relax e guarda immagini e video spettacolari provenienti dai nostri siti in Cile.
Area 5: Presentazione di un libro illustrato
Unisciti alla roccia spaziale Pedro e ai suoi amici nelle loro emozionanti avventure.
Area 6: Stellarium e una raccolta di fotografie del cielo notturno
Verrà effettuata una dimostrazione del software Stellarium e di altre risorse e verrà spiegato come sia possibile utilizzarle per orientarsi nel cielo notturno. Sarà anche possibile ammirare vedute del cielo stellato.
Area 7: Esplorare il cielo notturno
Scopri gli incredibili oggetti astronomici che sono osservabili durante l’anno e impara come identificare le stelle luminose e le maggiori costellazioni la prossima volta che osservi il cielo.
Area 8: Visite guidate dell’ESO
Unisciti alle nostre guide per un tour degli edifici dell'ESO e scopri di più sull'organizzazione e sul nuovo edificio annesso alla sede centrale.
Area 9: Visite guidate agli strumenti astronomici e ai prototipi dei componenti che formano l'E-ELT (European Extremely Large Telescope)
Visita il nostro laboratorio di integrazione e scopri gli strumenti, i test per i componenti del prototipo dell’E-ELT e gli esperimenti ottici che ottimizzano la performance dei telescopi. Ti preghiamo di notare che il laboratorio è un ambiente pulito: per accedere sono necessarie soprascarpe speciali di plastica che saranno messe a disposizione all’entrata della sala di assemblaggio.
Area 10: ESOshop
Se cerchi souvenir o regali, questo è il posto giusto.
Area 11: Connessione in diretta con Paranal e ALMA in Cile, conferenze e proiezioni di cortometraggi
Area 12: Mensa
Per i nostri visitatori sono disponibili bevande gratuite. In cambio di una piccola donazione, è possibile gustare un buffet internazionale con cibo tipico da tutto il mondo, fatto in casa dal nostro staff.
Area 13: Osservazioni al telescopio
Tempo permettendo, gli astronomi ti mostreranno il Sole con i loro piccoli telescopi.
Area 14: Fotografie a infrarossi
Fatti scattare una foto a infrarossi.
Area 15: L’angolo dei ragazzi
La dimostrazione di quanto la tecnologia sia creativa, appassionante e variegata! Vieni a provarla: prendi parte al percorso pratico con workshop ed esperimenti, oppure fai domande a piacere!
Area 16: Fabbrica di comete
Scopri di più sulle comete e sulla loro composizione in questa dimostrazione spettacolare.
Area 17: Face painting; costruzione del telescopio LEGO; regali per bambini
I bambini si divertiranno tantissimo a farsi pitturare il viso con i motivi astronomici più disparati, come stelle, galassie o comete.
