Video News Release 2: The high-dispersion UVES spectrograph

ESO Video News Reel 2 is published on November 18, 1998. It mainly contains video material related to current work on the high-dispersion UVES spectrograph that will be installed at the Very Large Telescope (VLT) on Paranal in mid-1999. It includes informative interviews with two of the scientists involved as well as various sequences from the work in the laboratory at the ESO Headquarters. A second theme concerns new observations of Trans-Neptunian Object "1996 TO" with the New Technology Telescope (NTT) at La Silla. In addition to sequences from the observatory and the telescope, there is a comprehensive statement by one of the participating ESO scientists.

This Video News Release is targeted especially at broadcasters for further editing. In order to keep the audio tracks editable, different sound information has been recorded on two separate tracks at optimal volumes as is common standard in professional post production. This video is not meant for on screen viewing — on ESOcasts are better suited for that.
