Presskonferens om de första resultaten från Event Horizon Telescope

Representanter för Europeiska kommissionen, Europeiska forskningsrådet (ERC, European Research Council) och Event Horizon Telescope (EHT, "Händelsehorisontteleskopet") kommer att hålla en presskonferens för att presentera banbrytande forskningsresultat från EHT.
När: 10 april 2019 kl. 15.00 CEST.

Vad: En presskonferens om ett banbrytande resultat från EHT.
Vem: Carlos Moedas, EU-kommissionären för forskning, vetenskap och innovation, Anton Zensus, styrelseordförande EHT Collaboration Board, samt följande EHT-forskare kommenterar resultaten:

RSVP: Inbjudan gäller representanter för media. För att delta måste registrering ske via onlineformulär senast 7 april 23.59 CEST. Ange om du deltar personligen eller online. Journalister på plats kommer att ha möjlighet att ställa frågor till paneldeltagarna. Individuella intervjuer kan göras efter presskonferensen.
Konferensen kommer att streamas online på ESO:s webbplats, av ERC och via sociala medier. Ett mindre antal frågor kommer att besvaras via hashtag #AskEHTeu.
ESO kommer att publicera ett pressmeddelande på svenska strax efter konferensen vid 15.07 CEST.
Presskonferenser kommer att hållas samtidigt på sex platser i Belgien, Chile, Shanghai, Japan, Taipei och USA. EU-kommissionären för forskning, vetenskap och innovation, Carlos Moedas, kommer att delta i Bryssel, Ordföranden för Academica Sinica, James Liao, i Taipei, ALMA Director Sean Dougherty och ESO Director General Xavier Barcons i Santiago och NSF Director France A. Córdova i Washington D.C.
På grund av det betydande vetenskapliga värdet av detta forskningsresultat kommer ett satellitevenemang att hållas på Chalmers campus i Johanneberg, Göteborg. För ytterligare detaljer kontakta Robert Cumming, kommunikatör vid Onsala Rymdobservatorium.
