ESOcast81: ¡Espíritus en el cielo!

Uno de los embajadores fotográficos de ESO se unió a un selecto grupo de personas que captaron en foto un extraño fenómeno en el cielo conocido como duendes rojos.
Estos no son objetos astronómicos, pero ocurren en la atmósfera de la tierra y están asociados a tormentas eléctricas. Son muy difíciles de detectar ya que perduran algunos segundos y las condiciones tienen que ser óptimas.
Pero Petr Horálek estaba en el lugar correcto en el momento adecuado, cuando visitó los observatorios de ESO en La Silla y Paranal, en Chile. Este ESOcast explora estas extraordinarias imágenes y describe cómo este fenómeno fantasmal se produce.
