Día de puertas abiertas de ESO 2014

Visite la Sede Central del centro astronómico terrestre más productivo del mundo

El sábado 11 de octubre, entre las 11:00 y las 18:00 hrs CEST, la Sede Central del Observatorio Europeo Austral (ESO), ubicada en Garching, cerca de Munich, Alemania, abrirá sus puertas al público.

Este año, los visitantes podrán visitar dos impresionantes edificios nuevos que fueron inaugurados con posterioridad al Día Abierto al Público que se realizó en 2013, y podrán disfrutar de una amplia gama de actividades que los introducirán al mundo de ESO. Este evento forma parte de las actividades del Día de Puertas Abiertas que abarca a todo el campus de investigación en Garching, y diversos otros institutos locales también abrirán sus puertas al público.

ESO se encuentra en el punto de ubicación 39 de este mapa del campus.Dentro de las actividades destacadas del programa 2014 se han incluido:

 

  • Visitas virtuales y en 3D — embárcate en un viaje hacia algunos de los centros astronómicos e instrumentos de vanguardia más espectaculares de ESO y sus alrededores;
  • Conéctate en vivo con Paranal y ALMA — conéctate con el Very Large Telescope de ESO, ubicado en Paranal y con  ALMA, el Proyecto astronómico de mayor envergadura en existencia, el cual consiste en 66 antenas emplazadas a 5.000 metros sobre nivel del mar, en el Llano de Chajnantor, en Chile;
  • ESO ChileChill —tómate un momento de relajación para ver imágenes increíbles de nuestros centros astronómicos en Chile, escuchando la banda sonora de la serie Chile Chill. Charlas, podcasts y documentales — escucha, observa y aprende más acerca de ESO;
  • Show en el Planetario y viajes virtuales a las estrellas — es una oportunidad para ver las estrellas a plena luz del día, gracias a las actividades en nuestro planetario, fotografías del cielo nocturno y un tour del cielo con Stellarium;
  • Pintura de caras, fábrica de cometas, fotografías en infrarrojo, libros de imágenes y regalos para los más pequeños — los niños se divertirán en grande al ver sus caras pintadas con motivos astronómicos diversos, como por ejemplo, estrellas, galaxias o cometas; al aprender a construir un cometa, y tomarse una fotografía en infrarrojo;
  • Observaciones solares -  Observaciones del Sol con telescopios, si el clima lo permite;
  • Y mucho más.

 

No es necesario reservar con anticipación. Simplemente hágase presente en las actividades que le interesan. ESO cuenta con una cafetería, donde se servirán refrigerios.
