View of La Silla Observatory in July 2019. In the foreground is the ESO 1.52-metre telescope, decommissioned at the end of 2002, re-commissioned and modernised in 2022. The picture was taken on 2 July 2019, when the path of totality of a solar eclipse passed across ESO’s La Silla Observatory.
