Giornata delle porte aperte all’ESO, edizione 2017

Sabato 21 ottobre 2017, l’ESO (European Southern Observatory) aprirà le porte al pubblico dalle 11 alle 18 (CEST) presso la sua sede centrale a Garching, vicino a Monaco di Baviera.
L’evento rientra nelle attività previste per la giornata delle porte aperte. Le attività si svolgeranno in tutto il campus di ricerca di Garching, dove anche altri istituti saranno aperti al pubblico.

Qui di seguito sono elencati alcuni degli eventi principali del programma del 2017:
- Visita alle strutture della sede centrale dell’ESO — partecipa a tour guidati nell’edificio dallo stile innovativo adibito agli uffici e nell’edificio tecnico. Scopri il modo in cui l’ESO crea stelle artificiali, osserva come sono fatti i prototipi degli specchi per l'Extremely Large Telescope e molto altro. Scopri di più sul Planetario e Centro Espositivo Supernova dell’ESO, attualmente in fase di costruzione e la cui apertura è prevista per il 2018. Sarà il planetario inclinato più grande dell'area che comprende Germania, Austria e Svizzera.
- Tour virtuali e 3D — intraprendi viaggi che ti mostreranno l’interno di alcuni tra i siti più mozzafiato dell’ESO e ciò che li circonda, oltre agli strumenti innovativi;
- Connessioni in diretta con Paranal e ALMA — assisti a una connessione in diretta con i nostri telescopi nel deserto cileno di Atacama. Connettiti al Very Large Telescope al Paranal e ad ALMA, il più grande progetto astronomico esistente, che consiste di 66 antenne posizionate a 5000 metri sopra il livello del mare sulla piana di Chajnantor, in Cile;
- ESO Chile Chill — prendi un momento per rilassarti e guarda le incredibili immagini provenienti dai nostri siti in Cile, mentre ascolti musica tranquilla;
- Conferenze, podcast e documentari — ascolta, osserva e scopri di più sull’ESO;
- Face painting, fabbrica di comete, foto a infrarossi, narrazione di storie e regali per i più piccoli — i bambini si divertiranno a farsi pitturare il viso con diversi disegni astronomici come stelle, galassie o comete. Potranno imparare a costruire una cometa, scattare foto a infrarossi, cercare adesivi per riempire il loro album e verranno premiati per il loro impegno;
- Osservazioni del Sole — osserva il Sole senza correre rischi usando un telescopio speciale (tempo permettendo);
- Viaggio virtuale nel cielo — goditi un’introduzione sul cielo con le costellazioni e i pianeti visibili in questo periodo grazie a un software per planetari;
- E tanto altro!
Non è necessario prenotare una visita in anticipo. Ci si può semplicemente presentare alle attività cui si è interessati. È possibile trovare bevande e spuntini alla mensa dell'ESO.
