Drag the slider to compare two different views of region around the Coronet star cluster, in the Corona Australis constellation. The visible-light image was taken with the MPG/ESO 2.2-metre telescope, and it shows dark clouds of dust and bright young stars. The infrared image, obtained with ESO’s VISTA telescope at Paranal Observatory, allows us to see through the dust, revealing hidden objects.
