Warm cartridge assembly of an ALMA Band 2 receiver

This image, courtesy of the NOVA sub-mm instrumentation group, shows the warm cartridge assembly for one of the ALMA Band 2 receivers. This component of the receiver operates at room temperature while the cold cartridge assembly is kept at cryogenic temperatures. Band 2 receivers pick up signals from the Universe with frequencies between 67 and 116 GHz.
