ESPRESSO takes shape
ESPRESSO — the Echelle SPectrograph for Rocky Exoplanet and Stable Spectroscopic Observations — undergoing integration and verification in the laboratory. The instrument has completed all preliminary tests and will shortly be shipped to Chile for installation at the telescope. ESPRESSO will use the light from any one, or all four, of the Unit Telescopes of the Very large Telescope, to extend our capability to find planets around other stars and to measure the fundamental constants of physics.
