Der Bau des ESO Supernova Planetariums & Besucherzentrums hier in Garching schreitet auf dem Weg zur Eröffnung im Frühjahr 2018 rasch voran. Währenddessen arbeitet die ESO weiterhin an einem beispiellosen Sortiment an hochwertigen Materialien für den Einsatz in Planetarien, die von weltbekannten AstrofotografInnen, KünstlerInnen, TechnikerInnen und MusikerInnen produziert werden.
Die neuesten Ergänzungen unserer Sammlung sind:
- Neue 4k Live-Fulldome-Webcams für ALMA und VLT, neue deep-sky Nachtkameras. Diese neuen Webcams übertragen live viele wunderbare Tag- und Nachtphänomene an den Observatorien, z. B. das Zodiakallicht, den Gegenschein und das Nachthimmellicht, die atmosphärische Absorption und Beugung.
- Neue kostenlose Musikstücke für unser Archiv, die von unseren Musikbotschaftern und -botschafterinnen produziert wurden.
- Noch mehr ESO-Fulldome-Clips, darunter atemberaubende Zeitraffer der ESO-Observatorien, eine künstlerische Darstellung des TRAPPIST-1-Systems und Renderings gewaltiger Ereignisse im Universum wie ein schwarzes Loch, das einen Stern verschlingt, und verschmelzende Sterne, die zu einer Supernova werden.
- Zusätzliche Fulldome-Clips von ESA/Hubble.
- Mehr wunderschöne Bildarrangements für Museen: Bilder und Videos für Ausstellungen in spektakulär hoher Auflösung – mit einer Größe von bis zu 20.000 Pixel. Sie werden Bestandteil der ESO Supernova-Ausstellung Das lebendige Universum sein.
- Fronteras (Grenzen): Eine Fulldome-Show basierend auf dem sozialen Nutzen der Astronomie, produziert vom Planetarium Medellín in Kolumbien. Regie führte Carlos Augusto Molina.
- VR-Filme: Diese 360 x 180 Grad-Filme vermitteln ein immersives Erlebnis. Sie sind ein neuer Produkttyp, der mit Virtual Reality (VR)-Brillen wie Oculus Rift, HTC Vive oder Google Cardboard verwendet werden kann.
Erste Filme sind:- Die CLUES-Simulation im Format bis zu 16 k x 8 k, produziert vom Adler-Planetarium.
- Eine VR-Ansicht des berühmten TRAPPIST-1-Systems.
- Kurzgeschichten, die im Fulldome-Format erzählt werden und auf dem Latino Dome Fest im Mai 2016 im Planetarium Medellín in Kolumbien präsentiert wurden. Darunter: Multiverse, Possible Worlds, Seven, The Wish, und Improper.
- Seeing, eine Fulldome-Show, die einige der faszinierendsten Prozesse des Kosmos erkundet, von der Astrophysik bis hin zur Biologie des Auges und des Gehirns.
- Phantom of the Universe, eine neue eindrucksvolle Planetariumsshow, die das Publikum in die Suche nach der dunklen Materie eintauchen lässt, produziert von CERNs MediaLab.
- The Reefs of Belize, Fulldome-Unterwasseraufnahmen, die das Ökosystem des mesoamerikanischen Riffs an der Glover's Reef Research Station in Belize erforschen, produziert vom Museum of Science in Boston.
- Livestream mit Impressionen vom Data-to-Dome-Workshop am National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) in Tokyo.
- Dort draußen, eine neue Planetariumsshow, online mit vielen Extras verfügbar.
