ESO News

Aldrig før har astronomerne set noget lignende som de bølgemønstre, som er opdaget i støvskiven omkring en nær stjerne. Opdagelsen er gjort på billeder fra ESOs Very Large Telescope og fra Hubble Rumteleskopet. Stjernen med de hurtige bølgemønstre hedder AU Microscopii, og disse mønstre er ikke blot aldrig observeret før - ingen har nogensinde forudset, at de skulle kunne eksistere. Så nu er der endnu en ting at udforske og forklare for astronomerne. Opdagelsen offentliggøres i tidsskriftet Nature for 8. oktober 2015.
