Så er vinderne af ESOs Astronomy Camp stipendier offentliggjorte

Nummer to af ESOs Astronomy Camp finder sted 26. december 2014-1. januar 2015 i Italien ved Aostadalens observatorium i Saint-Barthelemy, Nus. Det er Sterrenlab, som organiserer opholdet i samarbejde med ESO og ESON, som er ESOs science outreach network.
Under lejropholdet vil de unge forskerspirer studere temaet afstande i astronomien ved forelæsninger, hands-on aktiviteter og natobservationer med observtoriets teleskoper og instrumenter. Der bliver også mulighed for hygge, vintersport og udflugter for deltagerne. Registreringen for de større skoleelever er nu slut, og der indkom mere end 250 ansøgninger fra 24 lande. Vinderne af ESOs stipendier for opholdet er blevet udvalgt. I alt kommer der omkring 50 elever i alderen mellem 16 og 18 år. Blandt disse er nogen udvalgt til at modtage et fuldt stipendium, som dækker alle udgifter, mens andre får dækket udgifterne til dele af opholdet.
ESOs stipendium går til den 17-årige Allan dos Santos Costa fra Brazilien. Han har indsendt en video, Andre Verdener, og hans kommentar til udvælgelsen er: "Jeg blev rigtig overrasket! Hele min familie er også meget glade; vi kunne slet ikke tro at min video var blevet udpeget som vinder! Jeg er stor ESO-fan og jeg er specielt spændt på at komme til at opleve sne for første gang".

- Fra Fundacja "New Space", Polen, støtte til Tomasz Świerczewski (18) og Michal Grendysz (17).
- Fra National Children's Fund, Poland, støtte til Zofia Kaczmarek (16), Jakub Morawski (18) og Mikolaj Sabat (16).
- Fra Ciencia Viva, Portugal, støtte til Margarida Santiago (17) og Diogo Ribeiro (16).
- Fra Petnica Science Centre, Serbien, støtte til Andjelka Milovanovic (18).
- Fra Sociedad Española de Astronomía, Spanien, støtte til Ramón García (17).
- Fra Svenska Astronomiska Sällskapet, Sverige, støtte til Jakob Reinholdsson (17) Elin Löfman (16).
- Fra Université de Genève, Schweiz, støtte til Vania Vicenzi (17).
- Fra Eyuboglu High School, Tyrkiet, støtte til Baran Berdan Çimen og Baris Can Soy (16).
- Fra Science and Technology Facilities Council, United Kingdom, støttet til Sophie Abrahams (17) og Alistair Duffey (17).
- Fra Royal Astronomical Society, United Kingdom, støtte til Awnit Singh (16) og Jessica Goldie (16).
Vinterlejren støttet også af adskillige besøgende astronomer, blandt andet Laurent Eyer (University of Geneva, Schweiz), Fernando Ballesteros (University of Valencia, Spanien) og Arif Solmaz (University of Cag, Tyrkiet)
