Firma SCHOTT (Mainz, Německo) dokončila odlévání kotouče pro sekundární zrcadlo dalekohledu ESO/ELT. Dokončené zrcadlo bude mít průměr 4,2 m a bude vážit 3,5 tuny. Půjde o největší sekundární zrcadlo, jaké bylo dosud osazeno v dalekohledu a také o největší konvexní zrcadlo, jaké kdy bylo vyrobeno.
