Pomocí dalekohledu VLT Evropské jižní observatoře astronomové odhalili zatím nejbližší známý pár superhmotých černých děr. Dvě černé díry navíc dělí od sebe navzájem mnohem menší vzdálenost, než u kteréhokoliv jiného dosud objeveného systému tohoto typu. Dvojice skončí svoji existenci splynutím do jedné obří černé díry.
