Na dalekohled ESO/VLT bylo nainstalováno nové zařízení určené ke hledání extrasolárních planet. Svoji vědeckou činnost přístroj zahájil 100hodinovým maratonem pozorování sousedního hvězdného systému Alfa Centauri. Cílem experimentu bylo pokusit se jako první v historii zachytit na snímku obyvatelnou exoplanetu.
