Mrtvá hvězda a planetární tělesa: Astronomové zaznamenali vzácný cirkumstelární disk, který předpovídá budoucnost Sluneční soustavy

Když hvězdy podobné Slunci vstupují do závěrečných fází svého života, zvětšují objem a odvrhují vnější vrstvy, přičemž pohlcují a ničí blízké planety.

A diagram with two similar panels side by side. The first one shows a rotating disc around the star. Below it there is a wavy graph with two symmetric peaks, like cat’s ears. The horizontal axis of the graph shows wavelength increasing to the right: the left peak corresponds to bluer wavelengths and the right peak to redder ones. The other panel is similar, but the star is surrounded by two concentric discs with a gap between them. The graph below is has four symmetric peaks instead of just two.
