Día de Puertas Abiertas 2016 de ESO
Descubra lo que ocurre detrás del observatorio terrestre más productivo del mundo

El sábado 22 de octubre de 2016 la Sede Central del Observatorio Europeo Austral (ESO), ubicada en Garching bei München, Alemania, abrirá sus puertas al público entre las 11:00 y las 18:00 hrs CEST.
El evento forma parte de las actividades programadas para el Día de Puertas Abiertas a realizarse en el campus de Garching, donde diversos institutos también estarán abiertos para los visitantes.
ESO se encuentra en el número 39 de este mapa del campus.
Entre algunos de los aspectos destacados de la programación para el 2016 se encuentran:
- Visitas a las instalaciones de la Sede Central de ESO, participe en las visitas guiadas por el innovador edificio de oficinas, además de las instalaciones técnicas. Conozca cómo ESO es capaz de crear estrellas artificiales, vea los prototipos de los espejos a emplearse en el European Extremely Large Telescope, y mucho más. Obtenga mayor información acerca del planetario y centro de visitantes ESO Supernova, actualmente en construcción y cuya apertura se espera para el año 2017, el que se convertirá en el planetario con una cúpula inclinada de mayor tamaño en Alemania, Austria y Suiza;
- Tours virtuales y 3D, emprenda viajes que recorrerán el interior y los alrededores de algunos de los sitios de observación más sorprendentes de ESO, además de sus innovadores instrumentos;
- Conexión en directo con Paranal y ALMA, forme parte de una transmisión en vivo con nuestros telescopios en el desierto de Atacama en Chile. Podrá conectarse con el Very Large Telescope de ESO, ubicado en Paranal, y con el radiotelescopio ALMA, el proyecto astronómico de mayor envergadura en existencia, el que comprende 66 antenas emplazadas a 5.000 metros sobre nivel del mar, en el llano de Chajnantor, en Chile;
- Chile Chill de ESO, tómese un momento para relajarse con las increíbles imágenes de nuestros sitios en Chile, al ritmo de una apacible banda sonora;
- Charlas, podcasts y documentales, escuche, vea y aprenda más acerca de ESO;
- Caras pintadas, fábrica de cometas, fotografías en infrarrojo, cuentacuentos y regalos para los más pequeños, los niños se divertirán en grande con sus caras pintadas, pudiendo elegir entre distintos diseños astronómicos, como estrellas, galaxias o cometas. Podrán aprender a construir un cometa y tomarse una fotografía en infrarrojo, así como buscar estampillas para llenar sus álbumes y recibir recompensas por su esfuerzo;
- Observaciones solares, observaciones del Sol realizadas de forma segura haciendo uso de un telescopio especial, siempre y cuando el clima lo permita;
- Viaje virtual a través del cielo, disfrute de una introducción a los cielos con las constelaciones y planetas visibles en esta época, gracias a una presentación por computadora en el planetario;
- Y mucho más.
Los visitantes no requieren de reserva previa para las visitas. Simplemente puede presentarse a las actividades que le resulten de interés. ESO tiene una cafetería donde podrá adquirir alimentos ligeros.
