Tag der offenen Tür: Hinter den Kulissen der ESO am 3. Oktober 2026

Am Samstag, dem 3. Oktober 2026, öffnet die Europäische Südsternwarte (ESO) ihre Tore während des Tags der offenen Tür des Forschungscampus Garching nördlich von München. Das ist eine spannende Gelegenheit, um mit einem Besuch der ESO und anderen renommierten Forschungseinrichtungen hinter deren Kulissen zu blicken, und das kostenlos. Das ESO Supernova Planetarium & Besucherzentrum bietet zudem Planetariumsvorführungen und andere Aktivitäten an.
Von 10:00 bis 17:00 Uhr (MESZ) bietet die ESO an ihrem Hauptsitz in Garching bei München ihren Gästen ein spezielles Programm, das besonders für alle geeignet ist, die sich für die Astronomie und die technischen Einrichtungen begeistern, die die Forschung ermöglichen. Entdecken Sie die Wissenschaft und Technik hinter den modernsten Teleskopen der ESO, lernen Sie die Menschen kennen, die an und mit ihnen arbeiten, und erfahren Sie, wie Instrumente als Prototypen entwickelt und getestet werden. Astronominnen und Astronomen sowie Ingenieurinnen und Ingenieure der ESO stehen an diesem Tag auf dem gesamten Gelände bereit, um Ihre Fragen zu beantworten. Die ESO wird zudem eine Liveschaltung nach Chile einrichten, wo sich die Teleskope befinden. Kurzum: ein perfekter Ausflug in die Wissenschaft!

Programmübersicht
- Vorträge, Liveschaltung nach Chile und Videos: Sprechen Sie live mit dem Betriebsteam unserer Teleskope in Chile, hören Sie spannende Vorträge aus Astronomie und Ingenieurwesen oder entdecken Sie kurze Videos über die ESO und unsere Arbeit.
- Kinderprogramm: Nimm ein Infrarotbild von dir auf, baue ein Miniteleskop aus Lego oder lass dir eine Galaxie auf die Wange malen. Besuche alle Stationen, um Stempel zu sammeln und ein Geschenk zu erhalten.
- Planetariumsshows: Besuchen Sie eine Planetariumsshow im ESO Supernova Planetarium & Besucherzentrum (Registrierung vorab erforderlich)
- Inklusive Astronomie: Erforschen Sie die Entstehung von Sternen und Planeten fühlbar und begreifbar.
- Mechanische Werkstatt: Verfolgen Sie live, wie aus Rohmaterial hochpräzise Bauteile für die Teleskope der ESO entstehen. Gegen eine Spende an die ESO Charity Group können Sie zudem eines der limitierten, gefrästen Miniteleskope erwerben.

Besucherinformationen
- Alle Aktivitäten sind kostenlos.
- Die ESO verfügt über eine Cafeteria, in der Sie eine begrenzte Menge an Speisen und leichten Erfrischungen gegen eine Spende an die ESO Charity Group erwerben können.
- Medienvertreterinnen und Medienvertreter, die die Veranstaltung besuchen möchten, werden freundlich gebeten, ihre Teilnahme unter der E-Mail press@eso.org zu bestätigen.
