Einladung an die Medien: Festakt am 11. Oktober 2012 zum 50ten Jahrestag der Gründung der Europäischen Südsternwarte (ESO)

Die ESO lädt Journalisten und andere Medienvertreter, die über dieses Ereignis berichten möchten, zum Festakt aus Anlass des 50. Jahrestags der Unterzeichnung des ESO-Gründungsdokuments ein, mit dem im Jahre 1962 die Europäische Südsternwarte (European Southern Observatory, ESO) gegründet wurde.
WER
ESO-Generaldirektor Prof. Tim de Zeeuw und der Präsident des ESO-Council, Prof. Xavier Barcons, werden die Minister und weitere Repräsentanten der Mitgliedsstaaten und des ESO-Gastlandes Chile, den ESO-Council, Vertreter weiterer ESO-Gremien, ehemalige ESO-Generaldirektoren, renommierte Astronomen und weitere Gäste willkommen heißen, die für die Entwicklung der Organisation eine wichtige Rolle gespielt haben.
WARUM
Die Veranstaltung würdigt die ersten 50 Jahre des wissenschaftlich produktivsten erdgebundenen Observatoriums der Welt. Zu den Höhepunkten des Abends werden gehören:
- Festvorträge des Physik-Nobelpreisträgers (2011) Prof. Brian Schmidt und des ESO-Generaldirektors Tim de Zeeuw;
- Ansprachen von Bundesministerin Prof. Dr. Annette Schavan, MdB, Bundesministerin für Bildung und Forschung, und Staatsminister Dr. Wolfgang Heubisch, MdL, bayerischer Staatsminister für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst;
- Eine Erinnerungszeremonie, bei der einer der Spiegelrohlinge für das European Extremely Large Telescope eine Rolle spielen wird.
Anfragen für Interviews im Rahmen der Veranstaltung richten Sie bitte an die ESO. Während des Festakts und im direkten Anschluss daran steht eine separate Interviewecke zur Verfügung. Fotografie und Filmaufnahmen sind von einem abgegrenzten Bereich in Bühnennähe aus sowie während der Begrüßung der Gäste (18:30-19:30) möglich. Anschluss an die Audioanlage (XLR analog) kann auf Anfrage bereitgestellt werden.
WO und WANN
Die Veranstaltung findet am 11. Oktober 2012 zwischen 18:30 und 23:00 Uhr im Kaisersaal der Residenz München statt (Residenzstraße 1, 80333 München). Parkmöglichkeiten an der Residenz sind leider nicht vorhanden.
AKKREDITIERUNG
Medienvertreter müssen sich akkreditieren, um am Festakt teilnehmen zu können. Dazu schicken Sie bitte die folgenden Informationen vor dem 28. September 2012 an information@eso.org:
- Affiliationsnachweis des betreffenden Mediums
- Name und Vorname
- Nummer des Reisepasses oder Personalausweises
- Staatsangehörigkeit
Medienvertreter, die visapflichtig sind, können ein offizielles Einladungsschreiben anfordern. Weitere Informationen über deutsche Visa finden Sie hier.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass aus Sicherheitsgründen nur akkreditierte Medienvertreter eingelassen werden können. Ein Pressetisch, an dem die kurzfristige Anmeldung möglich ist, ist direkt am Veranstaltungsort zwischen 17:30 und 19:30 verfügbar. Akkreditierte Journalisten erhalten dort gegen Vorlage ihres Passes oder Personalausweises ihre Zugangsberechtigung. Die Zugangsberechtigung muss während der gesamten Veranstaltung sichtbar getragen werden.
Aus Platzgründen können wir leider nur eine begrenzte Anzahl von Medienvertretern zulassen. Wir möchten Sie daher ermutigen, sich frühzeitig anzumelden.
PRESSERAUM
Für Journalisten, die über die Veranstaltung berichten, steht ein separater Arbeitsraum zur Verfügung, der Stromanschlüsse sowie kostenlosen Internetzugang bietet. Mitarbeiter der ESO-Öffentlichkeitsarbeit stehen für weitergehende Informationen, Fragen und Interviewanfragen zur Verfügung.
Neuigkeiten im Zusammenhang mit der Veranstaltung werden online auf http://www.eso.org/public/germany/news/ zur Verfügung stehen. Eine Pressemitteilung, die auch Fotos der Veranstaltung bieten wird, ist für den 12. Oktober geplant.
