ESO User Portal Frequently Asked Questions

Phase 1 Matters (Proposal Submission, Time Allocation)

Why am I asked to supply scientific and technical keywords?
These keywords will be used primarily during the proposal distribution process in case you serve as a reviewer, to ensure a better proposal-referee match, both in terms of scientific and technical expertise. In addition, they will be used together with other indicators for anonymous statistical studies.
Can I trace all my ESO Service Mode runs?
Absolutely. After logging into the User Portal (http://www.eso.org/UserPortal) in the main screen you will see a card labelled, "Phase 2". Within that card you will see the link, "Check the status of your observing runs". Clicking on that link will bring you to an overview page for your observing runs.
How can I access my WebLetters through the User Portal?
After logging into the User Portal (http://www.eso.org/UserPortal) in the main screen you will see a card labelled, "Phase 1". Within that card you will see the link, "Check the time allocation information". Clicking on that link will give you access to your WebLetters.
