Dear colleague, We are pleased to announce that pre-registration is now open for an ESO workshop on: Multiwavelength Views of the ISM in High-redshift Galaxies June 27 - 30, 2011 Santiago, Chile http://www.eso.org/sci/meetings/2011/gas2011.html Topics include - Theoretical predictions of the physical properties of gas in high-z galaxies - Outflows and inflows at high-redshift - Effects of star-formation and AGN activity - Census of molecular gas masses and excitation at high-z - Interplay between mass, metallicity and SFR in galaxies - ALMA and FIR line emission in high-z studies - Synergy between ALMA, EVLA and ELTs Confirmed invited speakers include: - Frederic Bournaud (CEA, IRFU) - Kristen Coppin (McGill) - Giovanni Cresci (Arcetri Observatory) - Adam Leroy (National Radio Astronomy Observatory) - Desika Narayanan (University of Arizona) - Alexandra Pope (University of Massachusetts) - Dominik Riechers (Caltech) - Rachel Somerville (Space Telescope Science Institute) - Gordon Stacey (Cornell) - Paul van der Werf (Leiden) - Axel Weiss (Max Planck Institut für Radioastronomie, Bonn) The meeting will be held at the ESO Vitacura and ALMA Joint Astronomy Office campus in Santiago and will be limited to 100 participants. The expected workshop fee will be approximately 100 euros, but free for students. To go along with the many attractions that Santiago area has to offer, there will be the opportunity for a limited number of workshop participants to fly to San Pedro de Atacama and enjoy a guided tour of the ALMA and APEX Chajnantor site on July 1.
