Transits from COROT and the Darwin mission The recent launch and deployment of the COROT space craft promises the start of systematic and dedicated research into exoplanets being carried out from space. In this review a timeline will be presented that will demonstrate the different elements that take us from COROT until eventually missions like Darwin that will directly study the physical conditions of terrestrial exoplanets will be launched. The relation to ground based programs like ALMA and various ELT options will also be discussed. While it is to early to report results from the COROT mission, details of its capabilities, and expected results will be presented.
