	VLT-SW-NOV97 - RELEASE NOTES FOR LCU DRIVERS & EI

There are no backward incompatibilities for all drivers and 
Driver Engineering Tools with respect to the MAY97 release.
Detailed changes and extensions (except porting to VxWorks 
Tornado) are listed below. There is one NEW driver (net01).

acro:   LCU Acromag Digital I/O Driver
        SPR 970387: higher priority of interrupt task - changed to 20.
        (Remark however that these interrupts are not supported by LCC.)

aio:    LCU Analog I/O Driver
        (no change)

ampl:   LCU Servo Amplifier Driver
        (no change)

ikon:   LCU Heidenhain IK320 Encoder-I/F Driver
        SPR 970409 fixed: ikonCMD_RECORD_CORR behaves now as documented,
        ie repeated calls return ikonERROR_CORR_IN_PROGRESS, then
        ikonERROR_CORR_CALC_IN_PROGRESS, and finally OK.
        Minor improvements in ikonDevShow (ref-mark and correction flags).

iser:   serial driver for ESD ISER-8 board
        (no change)

lcudrv: LCU common driver library and test tools
        lcudrvTk panel revised; option -v is now -verbose;
        menus are now displayed in space-saving lower case.
        lcudrvTk.config: accepts now comment lines beginning with #.

lculog: LCU driver logging functions
        (no change)

lqs:    LCU Q-Server
        (no change)

mcon:   LCU Maccon Motion Controller Driver
        SPR 970171: access rights of command mconCMD_READ_DAC_VALUE
        SPR 970269: added command mconCMD_READ_VELOCITY

net01:  NET01 ethernet interface driver for VxWorks
        - NEW DRIVER -
        This driver supports multiple LAN interfaces for LCUs.
        See user manual and man-pages net01(4), net01.boot(5).
	Known problem: there are currently conflicts with other drivers,
	see SPR 970317.

qsemu:  Workstation Q-Server Emulator (for CCS-lite)
        (no change)

tim:    LCU Time Interface Module Driver
        (no change)
